Affordable Type I Water
Water is used in every laboratory. Many users believe that they must buy an expensive system to produce Type I Water - the most pure form (>18 Mohms resistivity.) On top of the initial expense, some of the most popular water systems require an annual service contract that can run thousands of dollars per year! Proprietary ion-exchange resin cartridges add to the operating cost, making the product so expensive that many researchers resort to purchasing prepackaged Type I water.
The CLiR 3000 High Purity Water System provides 2.0 lpm of Type I water and up to 4.0 lpm of direct feed supply. A quiet recirculation pump ensures constant water purity. Standard equipment includes a built-in pressure regulator. Water quality meets or exceeds ASTM Type I water specifications.
This attractive, compact unit can be freestanding or wall mounted. Resistivity is temperature compensated, and continuously monitored on the digital display. Filter replacement is easy, and requires no tools. Due to their high capacity, cartridges last longer between changes, thus lowering operating costs.
A variety of options are available including:
- Remote Dispensing Gun
- Upgraded 0.05 micron hollow fiber ultrafilter
- UV for bacteria and TOC reduction
- Secondary Direct Feed Side Port
- Wall bracket
- Reverse Osmosis Pretreatment

High-purity water systems are instruments packaged around ion exchange resins and some filtration. At their core is the resin that goes into the cartridges. There is one U.S. manufacturer whose primary technology is in producing the resin. That is ResinTech, Inc. They are located in New Jersey.
Don't chase after the crowd the next time you are looking for a Type I water system. The market leader - the Kleenex brand - got there easily due to marketing and advertising. The core technology - the ion exchange resins - they outsource. And you pay and pay for the brand.
If you are trying to purify water - no matter what the contaminant, no matter how impossible it may seem - ResinTech has a solution and LPS has the expertise to help you get the best product at the lowest possible cost.

Further, the company’s mission is to provide innovative and cutting-edge technology that contributes to the development of scientific breakthroughs. Yamato Scientific Co. Ltd. has become one of the largest scientific instrument manufacturers and distributors in Japan, and consists of four business units - scientific instruments, laboratory furniture, analytical & measuring instruments, and testing equipment. Yamato Scientific America was formed in 1982, to provide general laboratory equipment, including incubators, muffle furnaces, water baths, rotary evaporators, sterilizers, stirrers and spray dryers, to the US market . The company has further diversified to include product lines tailored to semiconductor and biotechnology fields. Yamato Scientific America’s headquarters are located in the heart of Silicon Valley, in Santa Clara, California.
Let’s Compare Yamato’s Rotary Evaporators to the Competition

- Rotate faster & slower (315 rpms – 5 rpms) than any other rotary evaporator on the market, so you can test new SOPs and develop better methods.
- Easily manage your expensive samples with small flask sizes (from 100ml to 2L).
- Program rotation direction changes, ramps, and other automation to get more done in the lab at once.
- Eliminate most manual steps in the sample drying and removal process by creating finer dry granules (ask us how).
- Easily analyze the residue left over after distillation.
- Orient for left or right-handed operation based on your limited bench space.
- Get a purpose-built R&D mini rotary evaporator priced 10-20% better than comparable models from the other names you know.
LPS just saved one of our clients over $20,000 by recommending the Yamato brand over the Buchi brand they were originally considering!
