Preguntas Frecuentes - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in Spanish

What is the difference between a "customer" and a "client"?

All clients are customers, but not all customers are clients.

A customer is anyone who purchases; the transaction could be through our website as a guest without creating an account.

A client has an LPS account with personalized pricing, customer-specific catalog numbers, reporting tools, and additional purchasing benefits.

Why does LPS assign customer-specific part numbers?

Each client receives their own catalog containing their organization's part numbers and negotiated pricing.

This means:

  • No quotes are required for routine purchases.

  • No expiring quotes.

  • Pricing is always available online.

  • Ordering is faster and more accurate.

  • Employees can order using familiar internal catalog numbers.

What are the advantages of buying from LPS instead of a large distributor?

LPS focuses on helping small and mid-sized laboratories reduce purchasing costs.

Because we ship most products directly from manufacturers, we avoid the overhead associated with maintaining large warehouses. Those savings are passed on to our clients.

Large distributors are often the best solution for organizations purchasing millions of dollars annually. LPS is designed for organizations that want competitive pricing, personalized service, and individual attention regardless of their purchasing volume.

How do I create a catalog containing only the items I purchase?

Your personalized catalog begins automatically when you become an LPS client.

Each time you purchase a new item, it can be added to your catalog, creating a customized ordering system that reflects the products your organization actually uses.

Should I send LPS a list of everything we've ever purchased?

Generally, no.

The best approach is to begin with your highest-volume or most frequently ordered items.

We recommend starting with fewer than 25 products. Once you're comfortable ordering through Lab Procurement Services, you can gradually add additional items as needed.

Keeping your catalog focused makes products easier to find and ordering much more efficient.

Can other customers see my catalog or pricing?

No.

Each client's catalog and pricing are completely private. Only authorized users associated with your account can view your products and pricing.

My organization is tax exempt. How do I avoid paying sales tax?

Create an LPS account and email your tax exemption certificate(s) in PDF format to LPS.

Once your certificates have been processed, qualifying purchases shipped to the applicable states will not be charged sales tax.

How do I establish an account?

Simply click Create an Account on our website and complete the registration form.

If you'd like to establish credit terms, additional credit application information will be requested.

Once my credit application is approved, can I begin placing orders?

Yes.

New accounts are initially assigned a $2,000 credit limit.

After your first invoice is paid according to terms, additional open orders can be placed. Your first purchase may also be paid by credit card.

Is there a limit on credit card purchases?

Yes.

Customers without approved credit may purchase up to $2,500 by credit card.

Purchases exceeding $2,500 generally require payment by ACH or wire transfer.

Can I pay by credit card if I already have an account?

In most cases, LPS pricing assumes payment by ACH, check, or wire transfer.

Because credit card processing fees average approximately 3.5 - 4%, credit card payments require prior approval and may include a pricing adjustment to offset processing costs.

How do I add products to my catalog?

For multiple products, email a list (preferably in Excel format) to info@labproservices.com.

To add a single item from the website:

  1. Locate the product.

  2. Click the heart (Wishlist) icon.

  3. Select Update Wishlist.

This notifies LPS that you'd like the item added to your personalized catalog.

What are the advantages of becoming an LPS client instead of purchasing as a guest?

Clients receive several benefits, including:

  • Net payment terms with approved credit

  • Purchase using purchase orders

  • Personalized cost-plus pricing

  • Custom catalogs using your own part numbers

  • Spend and savings reporting

  • Personalized customer service from experienced laboratory purchasing professionals

I've found a lower price elsewhere. Will LPS match it?

We'll do our best.

If we cannot match the exact product, we may be able to recommend a comparable alternative that provides better overall value.

Please contact us - we're happy to review competitive quotes.

Why don't I receive a tracking number immediately?

Most LPS orders ship directly from the manufacturer.

Tracking numbers are provided as soon as they're available from the supplier. Since suppliers don't generate tracking information until an order ships, you may occasionally receive your shipment before the tracking number reaches us.

Who should I contact with questions about my order?

You can reach us in several ways:

  • Start a live chat on our website

  • Email info@labproservices.com

  • Call Lisa Greene at 865-622-5323

  • Call Erik Bennett at 865-512-8850

Who can help with technical product questions?

Our team has extensive experience in laboratory research, purchasing, and sales.

Click Contact Us or Schedule an Appointment, and we'll either answer your question directly or connect with one of our manufacturer partners to recommend the best product for your application.

What shipping options does LPS offer?

Customers may:

  • Use their own UPS or FedEx Ground account

  • Pay LPS's flat-rate shipping charge

  • For bulk shipments, specify use of your LTL carrier (pending vendor approval.)

  • Clients enjoy the benefit of having LPS determine the lowest cost option, no makeup, and getting free shipping if it is extended to LPS by a vendor.

LPS clients also benefit whenever manufacturers extend free shipping to us.

Why does LPS charge a flat $30 shipping fee for web customers?

Since most products ship directly from manufacturers, actual shipping costs aren't known until an order ships.

Our flat-rate shipping simplifies ordering and often saves customers money on larger purchases.

It also encourages consolidating purchases into fewer, larger orders, reducing overall shipping costs.

Heavy or oversized products may require additional freight charges.

Are client prices better than the prices shown on the website?

Often, yes.

Clients receive personalized cost-plus pricing based on supplier costs.

For products with higher supplier margins, client pricing can be significantly lower than public website pricing.

Occasionally, when supplier margins are already very small, website pricing may be equally competitive or even slightly better.

What payment methods does LPS accept for Net-30 accounts?

LPS accepts:

  • ACH

  • Wire Transfer

  • Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express; Discover is not accepted)

  • Check (with approved credit)

Additional electronic payment methods such as PayPal or Google Pay may also be available for certain transactions.
