1,10-Phenanthroline is an organic compound that forms an intensely colored orange-red complex with ferrous iron, which is the basis of a common colorimetric method for measuring iron in water and other samples. How long do pH buffer solutions last once opened?
An unopened buffer is good until the manufacturer's expiration date.
