Before ordering, check the temperature range against your method: the digital water baths here cover ambient +5° to 99°C, while refrigerated circulators reach -30°C at the low end and up to 170°C at the high end. Compare bath volume, and for chillers the cooling capacity (in kW or HP) and pump type, since the DuraChill CA chillers are listed with either a turbine or a positive displacement pump. Confirm voltage and frequency (120V 60Hz, 208-240V or 230V). Plan for the bath fluid too, such as polycool glycol mixes for below-ambient work and algae inhibitor for water baths, plus the fittings, lids and bypass kits your setup needs.

What is constant temperature equipment?
Constant temperature equipment holds samples, vessels or connected instruments at a set temperature. It includes water and bead baths, heated and refrigerated circulators, recirculating chillers, immersion coolers, general-purpose, CO2 and shaking incubators, humidity test chambers and plant growth chambers. The right choice depends on temperature range, stability, capacity, and whether you need to heat, cool or both.
What is the difference between a circulator and a chiller?
A circulator has a bath with a heater, often refrigeration, and a pump that can control the bath itself or circulate fluid through external equipment. A recirculating chiller is mainly built to remove heat, supplying cooled fluid to equipment such as rotary evaporators, condensers or lasers. Chillers typically focus on cooling capacity, while circulators offer wider temperature ranges and their own working bath.
What fluid should I use in a lab bath or circulator?
Distilled or deionized water is commonly used for moderate temperatures, often with an algae inhibitor to keep the bath clean. For temperatures near or below freezing, a water and glycol mix is typical, and specialty fluids or oils are used at higher temperatures. Use a fluid rated for your full operating range and approved by the equipment manufacturer.
Can I get a quote on a chiller or incubator?
Yes. Volume and quote pricing is available through the Contact Us page, and approved business accounts can pay by purchase order. Larger equipment often ships directly from the manufacturer, so lead times vary by item. Include the model, voltage and quantity in your request so the quote matches what you need.
