Lab Procurement Services provides a wide range of solvent grades to meet the requirements of multiple lab and production applications. Please see our specific sections for ACS, Anhydrous, Electronic, High-Purity (including GC), HPLC, and USP-NF-FCC grades, as well as General Purpose products.
Don't forget to check out our Chromatography Supplies and PPE Safety sections for other essential lab products!
Before ordering, match the grade to the work: HPLC and LC-MS grades are tested for properties such as low UV absorbance and low residue, ACS grade meets American Chemical Society reagent specifications, anhydrous grades have low water content for moisture-sensitive work, USP/NF/FCC grades serve pharmaceutical and food applications, and general purpose or technical grades suit cleaning and non-critical use. Then choose the container: amber glass, PVC-coated glass, poly bottles, Cubitainer, poly pails, or 20 L and 55 gal drums, often sold as 4 x 4 L cases. Check the SDS for storage and handling, and request a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) if your quality system needs lot-specific results.
ACS grade means the solvent meets or exceeds the purity specifications published by the American Chemical Society for reagent chemicals. HPLC grade solvents are tested for properties that matter in chromatography, such as low UV absorbance, low residue after evaporation and filtration to remove particles. A solvent can meet both, so check the label and specification sheet for the tests your method requires.
Anhydrous solvents have very low water content, usually stated as a maximum in ppm or percent on the specification sheet. They are used in reactions and analyses where water would interfere. Once a bottle is opened, the solvent can absorb moisture from the air, so keep containers tightly closed and use septum closures or dry handling if the water level is critical.
Every chemical has a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) describing hazards, storage, handling and disposal. Many manufacturers also provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) showing test results for a specific lot. Keep the SDS where staff can reach it, and request the CoA when your quality system or method validation requires lot-level records.
No. Chemicals ship only to business addresses, and a company name is required at checkout. Many solvents ship directly from the manufacturer, so lead times vary by item. For drums or larger volumes, volume and quote pricing is available through the Contact Us page, and approved business accounts can pay by purchase order.
