Many municipalities use chloramines to control bacterial growth in distribution systems and to reduce the formation of trihalomethanes (THMs). However, recent concerns over the Disinfection by-products (DBPs) that result from the use of chloramines in the water supply have water professionals looking for products to remove chloramines.
